AFC U19 Women’s championship 2019: Thailand coach convinced by Vietnam’s victory
Thailand coach Arun Tulwattanangkul hailed Vietnam side for their excellent performance, speaking in the post-match press conference.
U19 Vietnam took on U19 Thailand in the opening match of the AFC U19 Women’s Championship 2019 on Oct 27. Both sides entered the game and created an exciting match.
However, the first half ended goaless and the opening goal only came in the 57th minute from Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, when Vietnam was awarded a penalty goal. The second goal was netted by Ngan Thi Van Su sealing the 2-0 away win over Thailand.
Right after the match, Arun Tulwattanangkul proved convinced by the visiting team’s win.
“My team played well but that was not enough. U18 Vietnam performed excellently. Thailand had many chance but failed to convert it to goals. Thailand should keep better tempo. After the match, we will discuss and find out sollutions,” coach Arun told reporters.
According to Mr. Arun, his team will put more effort to win the best results in the other matches."The opening match outcome was not good, of course. But we get two more matches ahead. We must fight and plan to do it. Thai players should be confident in the last two matches. I hope that my team will advance to the next round,” he added.
U19 Vietnam will encounter the strongest rival of group A – North Korea on Oct 30.
