Van Lam: ‘My experience will help me to stop Thailand striker’
Thể Thao 247 - The keeper combined the bloodlines of both the Vietnamese and Russian shared that he is so honor and confident that he is about to head into another big game with Vietnam NT.
In the King’s Cup squad list of Vietnam NT published recently, there is an indispensable name that Park Hang-seo is supposed to can’t skip out – Dang Van Lam. The keeper wearing Muangthong United jersey in Thai League has been the best truthful option for Vietnam’s goal.
Van Lam, along with Nguyen Manh (Song Lam Nghe An FC) and Van Toan (Hai Phong FC), are the three goalies brought into the game.
Van Lam shared to The Thao Van Hoa newspaper:
“I am so honor and happy when featuring in the squad list of Vietnam NT for King’s Cup and beyond enjoy when I am about to be back with my Vietnam NT teammates. I am so glad to be one of three keepers picked out this time with whom are my senior Nguyen Manh and my younger mate Van Toan. Previously, Toan and I had a training campaign together in Hai Phong FC. Now, Van Toan is caped to the Vietnam NT is what can be called an amazing thing for himself.
Amidst Vietnam NT, whoever to be called up will play a pivotal role and be the no.1. In my opinion, when being given a gathering slot, everyone will make a great effort and try to do all the best. If players are arranged in the official line-up, it can be sure that they will dedicate all their heart and effort to play for the national color."
Taking about the warm-up clash against Thai NT in 2019 King’s Cup, Van Lam said that his experience gathered from playing in Thai League will help him to be more confident when facing Thai people:
“I have the advantage of practicing and playing with some Thai players of the Muangthong United current FC. That experience can help Lam become more confident when encountering Thailand. Playing with two Thai strikers serving Muangthong will make Lam understand partly of how they play and how they possess the ball.”
When being asked about Filip Nguyen - the goalie has a Vietnamese root, Van Lam revealed his feeling:
“Vietnam surely needs to gather the best players at this time. The more great players Vietnam NT has, the better the team gets.”
