Before that, VFF appealed against the group seed’s first result wherein Vietnam falling to a group with the lowest-seeded teams.
On April 21, The Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) made a response to Vietnam’s complaint and announced a new conclusion.
According to the latest classification, U22 Vietnam is at the same group seed with U22 Myanmar, while Vietnam’s former group now has presences of Singapore, Laos, Campuchia, Brunei, and Timor Leste. The members of group 1 and 2 have no change.
With this result, U22 Vietnam will have an advantage in the Qualifications because of avoiding the tough rivals consisting of Thailand, Malaysia, and Myanmar.
