He was first summoned up to the national team in 2011 when he was only 21 years old and once participated in the Curacao squad to attend the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2017. Cuco Martina is also the captain of Curacao NT.
Leandro Bacuna
It can be said that Leandro Bacuna is the most famous player of Curacao. Leandro Bacuna started his career at the Groningen club, being known for his versatility when he was able to play well in many different positions such as central midfielder, right midfielder, right-back. He has won many Premier League and First Division English clubs including Aston Villa, Reading and most recently Cardiff City, the most successful time was when he played for Aston Villa (2013-2017). In here, Bacuna had a free-kick to hit Manchester City.
He was also called to the Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21s Netherlands but then chose to play for Curacao National team. In the opening match of King’s Cup 2019 , Bacuna set the 3-1 victory for Curacao over India.
