The investment for HAGL is not for V-League championship: Doan Nguyen Duc
HAGL president Doan Nguyen Duc shares that he invests in the team to get better place on the table, not for V-League championship.
V-League 2020 will kicks off later this month. With a huge investment of the Vietnamese teams, V-League 2020 promises to be one of the most much-waited league in Vietnam.
HAGL, one of the clubs invested largely, brought quality foreign players, along with old ones Minh Vuong, Tuan Anh, Van Toan.
However, the chairman of HAGL club - Doan Nguyen Duc, did not set a goal of winning the V-League in 2020.
“I will invest for HAGL to compete for the top spot in the 2020 V-League. But competing for the championship is impossible for HAGL. Looking at the the team, you see the majority of HAGL are players from the national team, or U23 Vietnam. Theoretically, we only need to improve quality foreign soldiers, but winning V-League is impossible."
Certainly when making such a statement, Duc is referring to his previous statement "5 skinny men beat 1 fat guy" about the situation in the current V-League. In the 2019 season, the chairman of HAGL also correctly predicted when Ho Chi Minh City cannot overcome Hanoi FC to win the championship.
Instead of investing to win the V-League, Duc said that he would focus more on training young players to continue to contribute more to Vietnamese football in the future.
“You see, HAGL JMG Academy still enrolls every 2 years and still operates normal. The funniest thing is that the players are still good kids. There are lots of good players from HAGL, good at football and study.
They are all mature. If someone asks whether HAGL crowns the championship, I would assert that it is impossible. We will invest heavily, reasonably and scientifically so that the team no longer struggles with relegation. HAGL will rise to the top but the championship were impossible ”- Bau Duc reaffirmed
