Thailand welcomes the return of pillars
Coach Akira Nishino received very happy information when a series of pillars of Thailand promptly returned to prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia will officially return with two matches on March 26 and 31.
In Group G, Vietnam is taking top spot with 11 points after 5 matches. Meanwhile, the rival of Vietnam - Thailand is ranked in 3rd place, winning only 8 points. Therefore, the Golden Temple team will have to make maximum efforts in the remaining 3 matches if they want to win the right to the final qualifiers.
Akira Nishino will first take on Indonesia at home on March 26. Three points is a must for Thailand to win this match if they do not want to be far behind.
Before this important match, the Japanese strategist welcomed the return of a series of pillars. The most notable of which is midfielder Thitipan Puangchan and young striker Ekanit Panya.
Thitipan Puangchan suffered a tendon injury in the first leg against Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup qualifier in September 2019. After 4 months of treatment, the midfielder fully recovered from injury and returned to play in the first round of the Thai League 1. Even Thitipan Puangchan beat Van Lam to bring victory to Pathum United.
Thitipan Puangchan is one of the important links in Akira Nishino's tactical system. His return will help the Japanese strategist have more choices in the midfield of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Ekanit Panya was injured in the second leg against Vietnam in My Dinh Stadium. This injury prevented Ekanit Panya from attending SEA Games 30, as well as the U23 Asian Cup at home.
Reportedly, Ekanit Panya has started to return to training, and if nothing changes, this player will be able to return to the top football in early March. Thereby, he will promptly attend Thailand's match against Indonesia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.
With the return of the two main midfielders in the squad, Thailand will have the strongest force and look forward to winning the match against Indonesia on March 26. This match will take place in Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand.
