Malaysia coach prayed for his students before the game against Vietnam
Coach Tan Cheng Hoe prayed the Malaysian players would keep their fitness and form for the match against Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup Qualifier.
Covid-19 broke Malaysia's plan to qualify for the second World Cup in 2022. Coach Tan Cheng Hoe said he was praying for his players to maintain their form and physical condition until rematching Vietnam.
Coach Tan Cheng Hoe said: "When the players have to rest for a long time, their performance will be affected. It is not easy in the current situation. When the tournaments come back, The schedule will have to be denser and we will have to witness the players will fight with injuries and physical problems.
I just prayed for everything and my players came back without problems. Hopefully their fitness will be good as soon as the 2022 World Cup Qualification returns ".
According to the original schedule, Malaysia will host Vietnam on March 31. However, FIFA has postponed the 2022 World Cup Qualifier in March and June and reorganized in October and November. It is expected that Malaysia vs Vietnam will take place on October 13, 2020.
