Kirins aim to bounce back, said Saringkan
Defender Saringkan Promsupa is confident former champions SCG Muang Thong United will bounce back when Thai League 1 gets underway again on Sept 12.
The Kirins, under their Brazilian head coach Alexandre Gama, are back in training after a lengthy spate away from the field due a global novel coronavirus outbreak, which affected Thailand as well.
When all footballing activities in the country were halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the first week of March, Muang Thong United were in seventh place in the top flight with six points from four matches.
During the hiatus, the Kirins lost a couple of key players with defender Adisorn Promrak heading to Port and captain Sarach Yooyen joining BG Pathum United.
However, Saringkan said the mood in the team camp was upbeat.
"We are very happy to be back on the field -- we missed football a lot," he said.
"The atmosphere is good and the coach is trying to improve our fitness. Every player is motivated and working very hard to get back among the top sides in the league."
