Heerenveen’s former president confused about Van Hau’s deal
Former club president Heerenveen Riemer Van der Velde has commented on the Van Hau deal.
Mr. Riemer Van der Velde, former Chairman of Heerenveen recently shared with Fean Online about the transfer of Doan Van Hau. He found it difficult to understand why the home team recruited a player from a far-away country, paid a high salary but left to reserve for most of the time here.
"I couldn't accept this deal. They took him from a distant country but then realized he couldn't play for the first team right away. The club has a talent search, technical, coaching staff for reference. It's all agreed and he should have been used. But in this case, that didn't happen."
Mr. Van der Velde is a prominent figure in Heerenveen. With 23 years of senior position as president, he became a living legend of the club. During his time working, he brought the team from the Second Division to attend the highest division of Eredivisie.
Before leaving in 2006, Mr. Van der Velde brought back memorable milestones for Heerenveen. In the 1999/2000 season, Heerenveen won the runner-up title in the Dutch league and the following year attended the UEFA Champions League.
With his knowledge, Mr. Van der Velde's statements are very weighty and worthy of fans’ attention.
"If only the commercial team found him attractive, of course the club could not do anything to a boy from a far-away country. But the financial situation of the team did not improve. He should have a chance to play in the first team. I can not understand what is happening."
After more than half a year at Heerenveen, Van Hau has just played 4 minutes in the Dutch National Cup. He mainly plays in Jong Heerenveen team for the rest time.
