Hanoi FC punished again because of Hai Phong
Hanoi FC will be fined because of the situation of lighting flares sticks in the match against Hai Phong, it is likely that Hang Day yard will be banned audience again.
In the match against Hai Phong, Hanoi FC mobilized up to 500 security personnel, including guards and police. Hang Day yard is also equipped with high-tech technical equipment such as magnetic doors and scanners to prevent fans from bringing weapons, flammables and explosives into the yard. However, all efforts could not prevent Hai Phong FC from burning 6-7 flare sticks.
Both Hanoi FC and Hai Phong FC are penalized for this incident.
VFF disciplinary chief, Mr. Vu Xuan Thanh said: “We will review the file and then apply some provisions of the VFF Additional Disciplinary Regulations issued in 2018 to provide the sanctions with the Hai Phong Club and the organizing committee of the Hanoi Club. Hai Phong club was fined for Hai Phong fans who committed extreme acts, lighting flare sticks on the stands of Hang Day yard. The organizers of the match between Hanoi and Hai Phong, despite mobilizing a large force, they could not prevent the incident."- according to TTHCM.
Mr. Thanh added: "However, in my personal opinion, we cant let this happen again. We will report it to the VFF standing staff to discuss the solution, maybe the match between Hanoi and Hai Phong is without spectators.
If moving to an alternative yard or deducting points is too heavy, it will be best to compete without an audience. Of course, this decision will cause a different flow of opinions. Hanoi fans are disadvantaged because they cant watch their home team. But it is better not to let Hai Phong fans enter the field and light flares stick again.”
Last season, Hanoi FC also suffered a heavy penalty for letting Nam Dinh fans light flares sticks which caused a fan to suffer severe burns and had to go to emergency. Three people who carried out flares sticks were sentenced to imprisonment, the most punishable is up to 7 years.
