Dinh Trong not ready for the National Super Cup

The reigning champion of Hanoi FC gathered in the morning of January 30 after the end of the Lunar New Year holiday. The spirit of the team is very excited and focused towards the 2019 National Super Cup match with Ho Chi Minh City on February 7.

Dinh Trong is the most notable player on Hanoi FC's side. After a long period of injury and performance at the AFC U23 Championship 2020, his chance to play is one of the biggest question for fans.

Sharing with the media, Dinh Trong said: “My injury is now much better. I hope I will return to the highest form to help the team towards new success. The goal of the Hanoi club has always been the V.League championship and the whole team needs great confidence to do that.”

Sharing about his opponent  Ho Chi Minh City, Dinh Trong proved very excited to    confront with familiar national players, including Cong Phuong:

“I'm quite excited to have the opportunity to meet Cong Phuong again. I am not ready for the National Super Cup match, but I believe the Hanoi Club will still win good results. The V.League is looking at us as the defending champion so they will play with the highest determination. Hanoi does not have a big difference in terms of professional. Whether I play or not, the team will still do well. Last season, the team did well even without me.”

As for coach Chu Dinh Nghiem, he shared that the coming time will help the players to be more connected. The case of Dinh Trong is still open.

“After a week of Tet holiday, the players are also somewhat physically distracted. At this time, Hanoi Club has full force. From now on, I want the players returning from U23 tournament and the rookie team to coordinate more smoothly. About Dinh Trong, I have to consider his performance and timing to decide whether he will play or not, '' said Chu Dinh Nghiem.

Finally, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem affirmed the determination of the whole team in the upcoming match: “The Super Cup match against any team is of great significance. Everyone wants to have the cup at the beginning of the season to bring good luck. Because there is only one match, every team has a great desire. Club Ho Chi Minh City adds a lot of stars and quality players. They will be a great counterweight to us. Playing away matches is a disadvantage, but the Hanoi club will try its best to play a devoted match.”

It is expected that Hanoi FC will continue practicing before flying into Ho Chi Minh City on February 5. The national Super Cup match will be held on February 7 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
